Seems like an age since I posted on here, but we had family visiting, from the UK, therefore no time to concentrate on work which needs to be completed by month end and assignment completion which should be posted to tutor.
I was very honoured to be invited to the opening of exhibition of art - EMERGING LIGHT, by ABDUL QADER AL RAIS, at Bait Muzna Gallery, Muscat. Abdul Qader Al Rais being a long standing and highly celebrated artist in UAE. His work in watercolours of varying sizes was an explosion of vivid coulours, juxtaposed with calligraphy and geometric forms.
Personally I found the richness of the colours and the interweaving of calligraphy in his pieces abstract and somewhat difficult to comprehend, although his 'Windows' series I really enjoyed looking at, as I see these compositions most days here in Oman.
