Exercise 1 - Focal length and angle of view

This is a work I should have concentrated on at the beginning, but kept putting it off due to lack of understanding, but having seen other work and read a little about this subject, I feel more comfortable in getting my head around this and being more clear on Focal length and Angle of view.

This exercise is to show that the angle of view on my camera, depends on the focal length of the lens I use, I am to take take three photographs with my selected lens,
one at each focal length
  • Wide angle image
  • As close in size as through viewing scene through my eye
  • Zoomed image
My selected lens is the Nikon 55-300mm lens as I believe this will give me enough range to make comparison of images.
I will support with the tripod for stability and to ensure that each photograph is taken from the same place.

The location for this exercise is the rooftop patio of my villa, the photographs taken out towards the farmland which borders our home, here the local farmers grow Dates and crops for animal feeds.  Using this location will enable me to print them at home and return to view them easily.  Donkeys graze on this land, as seen in third print.
